things to remember during exam!
in your school/college exams you would have noticed that the person who can do the best presentation in exam scores the most marks!
well this is much different from that! There is no presentation as it is just Multiple choice questions in the exam!
so all that you have to do in this examination is fill up the OMR sheet!
thats all no long answers or hand-writing problems! ;-)
If you would have appeared for some similar type exam you would be having an idea about it. But otherwise let me tell u that it is very easy compared to other exams if you take care and keep the basics in mind! but if you forget them and go haphazardly it could prove to be a tedious job.
There would be a few questions in which the answer you would be getting might be 'A' or 'B' or 'C' or 'D'
In that case you should remember and always keep in mind that you have to mark the correct option in the OMR sheet and not the correct answer!
let us take an example
question: Which of these is an vowel?
A. D
B. C
C. A
D. B
In this case the correct answer would be A
but the correct option would be C.
so in this case you have to mark 'C' in the given OMR sheet!
Plenty candidates make this mistake and reduce their total by such a silly mistake!
The other mistake that candidates make is marking the answer in another question
suppose you are solving your english paper
you have attempted questions 1 to 7
you see that the 8th and 9th question are based on comprehension and it is very long so you would keep it for later!
so you jump to the 10th question you find that the correct answer of question 10th is 'A' but in hurry you mark 'A' in front of question number 8 instead of 10!
this is also a very dumb-ass mistake many students make!
so if you feel it is difficult to mark the correct number in OMR sheet it is better to carry a ruler scale and keep it on the OMR sheet such that it points to the question you are solving currently!

what to do when you are blank during exam?
whats next?
Let us start with the worst case scenario, suppose nothing of what you prepared was asked!
what are you gonna do in the exam? you are not gonna leave your full paper blank! so which questions are you going to attend?
lets sort them out
There would be a few current affair related questions again possible that you might not be knowing them but if you have prepared even if you were regular in watching news or reading news-paper which is a MUST. You would not have any difficulty with the current affair section!
moving on to the Maths section, well this section does require practice for sure..some topics are more important like quadratic equations, ratio and proportion, percentage, time and work, cubes, area, probability, permutation and combination, lcm, hcf, statistics, triginometry, graphs and etc.
going to english section reading newspaper is the must. english is the section where most of the lads miss out on call-letters! It is english that makes all the difference! so focus more on it! the cut-off's will be low but you need to take that extra advantage from this section!
so follow all the tips and tricks of what to do in exams from experienced people!

now lets talk about which questions to attend and which not to?
first things first
finish all the questions that you are damn sure with
then attempt the questions that you are about 70-80% sure!
then comes the challenging part!
what to do if you are about 50% sure for any question?
i prefer this eliminating method!
from the 4 options given think logically...there would be atleast 1 or 2 which won't be possible logically.
so eliminate those options!
so you might be left with 2-3 options so the chances of ur success goes up from 25% to 33.33% or 50%
so that makes it a calculated risk and a preferable option to go with.
Also what to do on questions you just don't have any idea about?
well you have negative marking in CDS exam and so i strongly recommend to leave these questions blank!
It is a tough choice to leave the question blank but it is better than getting negative marks and reducing your total from your kitty!

time management in exam
alright
so continuing from the last post
coming to the most important factor that is time management;
now since you believe that you know everything asked in the paper but only time is stopping you.
so this method would be helpful in any case!
Solve the ones which take the least time first!
for example general knowledge questions are the questions which require the least thinking so solve them first on!
move on to the questions which take minimum time
remember the easiest questions will be the longest ones
so dont waste your time in those, you can always return to them if you have excess of time!
on basis of my experience solve the question paper 3-4 times!
In the first time just kind of go through the questions solve which you know and are damn sure about
If you would have invested only an hour of preparation regularly then you would manage to solve over 30% of the paper
whereas the other fools would be going with the tougher questions in order and wasting their time in the lengthy questions.
next thing is the risk factor which we would discuss in the next article to be posted tomorrow.
try solving some papers in this way!

what is to be done in exam?
Hello aspirants,
so what is the progress with your preparation?
so now when your are in the exam hall and the OMR sheet is given to you along with the sealed question paper and dozen of instructions of what is to be done and what not.
make sure you listen to those carefully, also read the instructions on the first page of the question paper.
note: the paper would be printed in English as well as Hindi except for the English section which will be only in English.
If you have done enough of preparation or else you know the basics of your school exams and are good at general knowledge the paper is going to be a piece of cake for you.
Make sure you trust the next sentence and follow these things in exam as they would make the difference if you get call-letter and get a step closer to your dream or not!
first things first confidence! have a truck full of it. This will do 50% of your task. If you are not able to be confident you take longer in solving every questions and make many silly mistakes which make the difference!
believe in yourself you know everything in the paper
